We set-up your home differently
- We match housemates first – you choose who you want to live with
- We buy the house after – you help pick your future home
- We offer long-term stability – a secure lease with sustainable support
- We ensure a smooth transition – supporting you every step of the way
Home and Living arrangements
- One-storey property
- Four-bedrooms (one bedroom for each housemate and one for an overnight support worker)
- Located in the community, either in the outer suburbs of Melbourne or Bendigo. Areas are based on our location assessments
- Minor modifications based on participant needs
Stages of the Hearth Home Solution
STEP 1: Funding
Check SIL eligibility. This is the responsibility of participants, families and nominees. If assistance is required hen applying for SIL funding, our Occupational Therapists (OTs) can guide you through the process.
STEP 2: Matching
Participants take part in the matching process and get to know each other. Three housemates for the house are confirmed.
STEP 3: Coordinating
Hearth coordinates funding and rosters-of-care to ensure housemates are aligned for sustainable support within the home.
STEP 4: Moving In
Hearth works with housemates and their families or nominees, to choose a home they like.
Hearth purchases the house and supports the housemates through the transition into their new home.
