Support Worker COVID-19 Vaccine Update 02/6/21

Support Worker COVID-19 Vaccine Update 02/6/21

Disability Support Workers are strongly encouraged to get vaccinated!

 How Do I Get Vaccinated?

Option 1 – Go to a participating doctor’s clinic, respiratory clinic, or community-controlled health organisation. You can view participating venues in the Australian Government Eligibility Checker.

Option 2 – Book through the Vaccine Eligibility Checker

Step 1: – Complete the Vaccine Eligibility Checker  https://covid-vaccine.healthdirect.gov.au/eligibility to confirm your eligibility and find your closest vaccination facility.

Step 2: – Book in your vaccination with your chosen provider. Vaccinations are free!

Step 3: – As directed by your chosen vaccination provider complete a “Covid Vaccination Consent Form” (download from https://www.health.gov.au/resources/publications/covid-19-vaccination-consent-form-for-covid-19-vaccination ) and take evidence of your employment with Hearth (i.e., a payslip) to your appointment.

Option 3 – Go to a Vaccination centre offering priority walk in access

You can go to a vaccination centre offering priority walk in access (no need to book in advance). Check the Australian Government Eligibility Checker for centre locations and opening times. Priority access is available at these centres from June 2 – 6 June to ensure aged care and disability support staff can be vaccinated quickly.

Option 4 – Go to a Vaccination centre not offering priority walk in access

You can go to a vaccination centre not offering priority walk in access. However, you might need to wait and are encouraged to check wait times (refer to the Australian Government Eligibility Checker) before you go.

As always, we are here to help if you need any kind of assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me or any member of the Hearth team and we will do our best to assist.

Stay Safe & Warm Regards

Justin Scanlon
